Product Description |
| BMW Z4: Design, Development and Production is the story of the creation of the Z4 from the first concept in the summer of 1998 until the delivery of customer cars in October 2002. David Lightfoot had exclusive access to the designers, engineers, and production personnel involved in the Z4, and provides an exciting behind-the-scenes look into the process. Never before has the story been told of how BMW brings together creative people and world renowned technical resources to deliver dream machines to its devoted clientele. David Lightfoot is a BMW enthusiast of the first order. He writes for Roundel, the publication of the BMW Car Club of America, on topics ranging from BMW history to future products and development. A particular interest is high performance driving; he has been an instructor with his local BMW Club for more than 20 years. The irony of his driving style and his last name have been brought to his attention many times. He is a lifelong resident of Seattle, Washington. This is his first book. |

| If you are fan of this car you won't be disappointed. Gives you a lot of small bits of knowledge about the development phase of the car. Explains the technologies much better than I have ever seen anywhere else. |
Must have if you own a Z4

I am a proud Owner of one BMW Z4 SMG 2.5 2005, and this book is an obligated reference, uses a technical narrative, howerver, clear enough to understand even for my wive (now she understand the cost rationale)

If you have this car, get this book.

| Great book if you are a lover of the Z4, or BMW automobiles. Offers great insight into the build and design process that helps you appreciate the engineering and quality that goes into every BMW. |
Covers just the first model but it's crowded with fact and nice stories

I've just bought a Z4 and I love that car. It was my dream car for years... I was looking for a book telling the entire story of that marvellous car. This is almost perfect. What is missing is just a couple of photos of the latest 2006 restyling and related facts and figures.
I'm waiting for the new release of the book ;-) |
Beautiful and informative book for Z4 owners

| I love the background on design of the Z4 and the pictures used to support the text are wonderful. This book was written just before or after the premier of the Z4 in 2003, so it's somewhat dated. No info at all on the changes to made to the Z4 after 2005 or the MZ. It's not a repair manual but has good info on what you can expect for performance of the car and it's major systems. I would buy the book again. |
